Ubud Yoga Guide: 5 Beautiful Studios You’ll Love

Yoga in Bali

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re either into yoga or thinking about coming to Bali and trying a class for the first time.

While there’s no official number released regularly on how many people visit Bali specifically for yoga, estimates from tourism and wellness trends suggest that tens of thousands come to the island each year for yoga-related travel.

Before I even arrived in Bali, I had already saved loads of Instagram reels with yoga studio recommendations—there are so many options. As someone who has become increasingly passionate about practicing yoga, I was excited to discover that Bali is home to hundreds of yoga studios, retreat centers, and wellness resorts.

Most of them are located in three of the island’s main tourist hubs: Ubud, Canggu, and Uluwatu.

I’ve explored studios in all of these areas—and you can find the ones I personally recommend saved in my Bali Guide & Maps.

🌿 Ubud as a Global Yoga Hub

Ubud is often ranked among the world’s top yoga destinations, right alongside places like Rishikesh (India) and Koh Phangan (Thailand).

Since I live in Ubud, I’ve had the chance to experience many of the studios here firsthand and find my favourites.

Therefore, I am sharing 5 yoga places that are absolutely worth visiting on your trip to Bali!

1. Alchemy Yoga and Meditation Center 🌿

The Shiva Shala, Alchemy Ubud

Alchemy Yoga & Meditation Center focuses on making the deep, life-affirming teachings of traditional tantra and yoga accessible to the modern-day seeker.

The Ubud location has two beautiful bamboo yoga shalas that make each practice feel truly special. While many locals and long-term residents attend regularly, the studio also welcomes seasonal visitors.

There’s a strong emphasis on community, so expect to find not only daily classes, but also ceremonies, themed gatherings, and soulful events.

Their classes are often inspired by the elements—Water, Fire, Air, Earth—drawing from ancient philosophies like Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

🧘🏻‍♀️Favourite classes: Fire (strong) and Water (fluid)
🎟️ Pricing: Drop-in class – IDR 165,000 (€8.70); workshops and events can go up to IDR 300,000
🪷 What to expect: A rich mix of daily yoga, ecstatic dance classes, on-demand sessions, teacher trainings, and community-led ceremonies

-> If you’re traveling around Bali, note that Alchemy also has a beautiful location in Uluwatu and recently opened a new center in Canggu.

2. Radiantly Alive

Radiantly Alive is another well-loved yoga studio in Ubud, known for its strong sense of community. It attracts many seasonal yogis as well as students attending their Yoga Teacher Trainings.

The space is open and welcoming, with four semi-open jungle shalas and an on-site café. The class offering is diverse—ranging from Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin to breath work, meditation, and workshops. There is always something going on, yet the center has a very relaxing environment and you have enough space for immersing into your practice.

Many who do yoga here end up staying long-term or returning again and again—it’s my personal favourite for a regular yoga practice in Ubud.

🧘🏻‍♀️ My favorite classes: RA Vinyasa, Hatha
🎟️ Pricing: IDR 165,000 (€8.70)
🪷 What to expect: Alignment- and adjustment-focused 90-minute sessions, plus frequent workshops and social events

3. Rasa Ubud Yoga Co-living

Rasa Yoga is one of the newer gems in Ubud’s yoga scene. It's a smaller, more intimate space with a gorgeous open-air wooden shala overlooking the rice fields.

The studio is part of a cozy co-living villa, making it an ideal place for remote workers or anyone seeking a deeper, slower immersion into yoga and local culture—just steps from your bedroom.

Everything here feels thoughtfully designed, with a clear intention to make you feel at home - especially if you're new to Ubud or just starting your yoga journey. Before or after class, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and unwind in the peaceful lounge area.

The space can also be rented for private events or intimate retreats at a reasonable price.

🧘🏻‍♀️What to expect: Daily yoga classes - including Ashtanga and Mat Pilates, soulful ceremonies, and cultural experiences with more privacy
🎟️ Pricing: IDR 160,000 (€8.40)/ discounted prices for in-house guests

4. Ubud Yoga Centre

This was one of the first places I visited in Ubud. I was drawn to its modern architecture and beautiful views from the yoga space which actually is quite big.

Unlike many of the open-air studios, the studios here are enclosed and air-conditioned—unless you’re taking a hot yoga class. It’s a versatile studio offering Hot Yoga (Bikram style), Barre Sculpt, Aerial Yoga, retreats, and more.

After class, the café upstairs is a great spot to sip your coffee, read a book, have breakfast, and relax while enjoying the jungle views and the ambience. And at the ground level, you will find a yoga store with many local and international brand products.

🧘🏻‍♀️ What to expect: Hot yoga and barre sculpt sessions, 60–75 minutes each
🎟️ Pricing: Drop-in class – IDR 160,000 (€8.40)

5. The Yoga Barn

Probably the first name you’ll hear when asking for yoga recommendations in Bali. The Yoga Barn is iconic—it’s not just a studio but a full-on yoga complex right in the heart of Ubud.

The space includes eight yoga studios, a garden café, lounge areas, and a holistic healing center. With over 180 classes per week, there’s something for everyone—from Vinyasa and Yin to Ecstatic Dance, Sound Healing, and in-depth workshops.

It also houses its own wellness center offering massages, counselling, colonics, and detox programs with local and international therapists.

Every year, The Yoga Barn becomes the vibrant home of BaliSpirit Festival—a week-long gathering celebrating yoga, music, dance, and holistic living. It's a magnet for conscious travellers and renowned teachers from all over the world.

The Garden Kafe is a destination on its own, serving delicious vegan food and smoothies in a relaxed setting. It’s a great place to connect with others or simply enjoy your own quiet post-class time. You can also join free Indonesian language classes held here (registration required).

🧘🏻‍♀️ What to expect: 180+ classes weekly across all yoga styles, healing modalities, and wellness programs
-> To note: Arrive at least 30 minutes before class—it’s popular and often gets full
🎟️ Pricing: Drop-in – IDR 165,000 (€8.70); student/local rate – IDR 100,000

🧘‍♀️ My Tips for Practicing Yoga in Ubud

Booking & Best Times: Most studios recommend early online booking. Arrive 10–15 minutes before class to get settled.

Local Discounts: If you have a KITAS or Indonesian ID, ask about special pricing—Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive both offer it (100k IDR per class)

No phone/filming policy: Observe and respect the studios’ rules. At some places filming during classes is not allowed and phones should be put away.

Gear: Mats and props are usually provided, but bring your own towel for hot or sweaty sessions.

Community Vibe: Radiantly Alive and Yoga Barn are perfect for meeting fellow yogis. Alchemy has more ceremony-driven and soulful events.
